Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will close registrations for 2nd clerical common exam on November 5 giving ample time for applicants to get ready for the d-day.
This CWE gains importance with some major changes such as online test & common interviews being introduced by IBPS.
IBPS Clerk Exam 2012 Pattern
As said earlier, the mode of examination will be online – you need not shade circles in OMR sheets but would have click the correct answer for question displayed on computer screen.Private Banks have already employed online tests for their recruitments & going by that, candidates should have options to move back & forth and complete questions left unanswered before final submission.

200 for 200
The structure of question paper is same; have to attend 200 objective type questions in
5 sections for a total of 200 marks within 2 hours (120 minutes)
While each correct option fetches one mark, 0.25 shall be reduced for every wrong answer.There is no penalty if you choose to leave a question.

General awareness: Have good knowledge about the recent happenings in India & neighboring countries.Be very thorough in banking terms

- Abbreviations
- Top news in business, sports, culture & entertainment
- Prominent committees & their heads
Computer knowledge: Answering this part won’t be tough as many are well versed in computer operations & questions would be only of basic level such as
- Computer parts & their functions
- Basic internet & email controls
- MS Office package (word, excel, powerpoint etc)
- Popular software names & their uses
Reasoning & Numerical ability: It would be better if you allot good amount of time in preparing for these 2 sections. The topics to cover shall include,
- Coding & decoding
- Syllogisms
- Venn diagrams
- Number series
- Work, Time, Speed & distance problems
- Profit & loss, Ratios, Simple interest etc.,
Though common interviews shall be conducted for all qualifiers your CWE scores will carry maximum weightage in final selection.
So accuracy & arriving at the correct answer in shortest time is the key to score good marks in IBPS common bank exams.
