Kolkata, Jan 5 (IBNS) Kolkata-headquartered UCO Bank will recruit 2500 employees by the end of March 2012, a top official of the bank said.
"This year the commercial bank will recruit 1200 Probationary Officers
and 1000 clerks through the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS)," said chairman of the bank, Arun Kaul here on Thursday.
The remaining 300 MBA degree holders will be recruited through campusing in colleges and universities, he added on the sidelines of a
press meet in the city.
Last year the bank had been recruited 1000 POs and equal number of clerks.
Every year 1800 employees are retired from the bank.
In this tough time for banks, Kaul said, "At the end of this fiscal year we expect to report normal growth of about 18-20 pct against
last year."
He added that by 2013 the bank will have 3000 branches against 2329 now and will add another 2250 ATMs.
Kaul expressed his views to increase its focus on agriculture sector.
The commercial bank has major business in corporate sector, which is about 72 pct of total business.
He said, "We are now eying to stress more on the SME sector as well as steel and textile sector."
