SBI Clerk Recruitment 2012 for North East & OBC/SC/ST

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced its plans for clerk recruitment, this 2012.The largest public sector bank with over 16000 branches across India has stated this as special recruitment project for categories other than general.Also a separate drive for north east is also brought up.Hence this sbi recruitment 2012 is not huge as expected by many.

Position – Vacancies

Clerk	2500 posts (in some states for OBC/ SC/ ST only)
	600 posts (in North East states)

The payscale for clerical cadre employees is Rs.7200/-/Rs.19300 & the  approx. salary could be approx. Rs.14,177 /month

Eligibility conditions for clerk recruitment in State bank of India,

* Agelimit: 18 - 28 years, as on 1.12.2011
* Should have secured 60% marks in std.XII OR Diploma (after 10th) OR
Pass in any degree, as on Dec 1, 2011
* Fluency to read & speak in english is required.
* Local language knowhow is considered a plus.
* Should be interested in marketing products & services (see SBI clerks to perform marketing)

Procedure of selection for clerical posts in SBI is based on the overall performance in written test & Interview.

The written test shall have objective type questions in the following sections.

1. English
2. Quantitative aptitude
3. General awareness
4. Reasoning
5. Marketing aptitude & Computers

Though the pattern,duration etc are not mentioned, 0.25 as negative mark would be reduced for each wrong answer in objective test.Apart from these, candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks for interview consideration.

As per the ratio of 1:3, we assume atleast 7500 (special recruitment drive) & 1800 candidates (NE states) would be shortlisted for personal interview stage.


Application:

• Candidates will have to first visit sbi.co.in, fill the online application, print the generated form & take note of reg. number & password.
• After 2 days of registration, application fee of Rs.50(SC/ST) & Rs.350 (others) has be paid either online or by visiting the branches of State bank.
• On successful fee payment, you shall receive a SMS or email confirming the registration process.
