Bank of India Clerks Recruitment; Expected Cutoffs [Analysis]

bank jobs vacancies series,no. of vacancies in banks, bank exam cutoffs Having seen & heard about the PO selection procedure, all bank job aspirants would have known that appearing for the IBPS CWE is not enough but securing high TWS would guarantee them interview calls right away. With clerk job recruitment notifications being released by public banks, the question of interview cutoffs have again come to the fore.

To help such confused minds understand their position, we are publishing the cutoffs that BOI might fix to shortlist candidates for Interviews.

How BoI shortlists?

Bank of India recruitment with 3149 posts has invited candidates holding valid clerk scorecards to apply but does everyone have a chance? No.

According to their notice,
only those who have secured the specified minimum IBPS TWS score & rank sufficiently high in the order of merit shall be called for a Personal interview in the ratio of 1:3
Hence it becomes necessary for you to think & apply rather than submitting applications to all banks without forethought.

bankexamsindia.com bank of india clerks analysis, bank of india clerk cutoffs, bank of india clerk recruitment 2012 cutoff scores Expected cutoffs

IBPS had released recently released the scoring pattern of CWE qualifiers in each state. (see IBPS po & clerks scorelist)

Based on BOI`s above ratio & comparing it with the no. of candidates within a particular score range, we have calculated cutoff scores for each category.

* states with less than 15 vacancies were not been taken.

Will it reduce

‘Something is better than nothing’. Likewise these permutations could help you in deciding whether to apply for this Bank of India clerk recruitment or wait for other banks.

Having said that, final cutoffs to be announced by the bank may differ - meaning it may go up or down.

Let`s see some events that may lower the cutoffs,
  • Some clerical exam toppers may have joined or would be attending the personal interview process for probationary officer positions
  • In addition, few may be ineligible due to improper selection of state, knowledge of local language etc.,
So you can expect a variation of only +/- 5 marks from our analysis since the competition is very high with a major chunk between 150-180 in many states.

Summary

After looking at the list, you should have bynow calculated your chances. To sumup in simple words,
States with min. vacancies & large no. of pass-outs will see high cutoffs, as BOI would only choose the toppers who fall inline with ratio of 1:3
Though Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh have 400+ clerical posts each & might call 850-950 (approx.) gen. candidates for interview, the cutoffs for General & OBC categories will still be above 175!

Candidates Question Selection Process of IBPS Banks

Bank jobs in India are back in demand as they are one of the most sought after career option in recent years & the trend is only to increase in future. As per industry reports, more than 3 lakh bank PO & clerk jobs are to be filled in public sector
bank jobs questions,IBPS cwe exam review, bank jobs in india questions Anything new is often welcomed with criticism & the latest selection procedure adopted for recruitment of bank jobs in India haven't escaped either. While individual exams were conducted by each bank earlier, Govt.of India decided on a common written test mainly to cut down on the time taken to complete each project which ranged between 8 –10 months.

Accordingly, IBPS was entrusted with the task of conducting exams, publishing results & issuing scorecards to qualified candidates. The real confusion began after banks started to shortlist candidates by fixing cutoffs.

Looking at high scorers being called for interviews in atleast 3-4 banks, those in the
sub-160 score range have become impatient & are speaking amongst themselves through social websites against such a practice .

too many questions of candidates, questions about bank jobs, bank job selection process But what are the concerns of these bank job aspirants?

We have compiled their most commonly raised queries at the IBPS & public banks (read it as asked by candidates themselves)

To IBPS

  • Will every qualified person get atleast a single interview chance?
  • What is the need to pass over 1.1 lac candidates when there could be only 20k PO vacancies this year?
  • Why cant IBPS cancel or seize the scorecards of those who have joined a bank? (No need for scorecard block, says IBPS director)
There were many direct posers to IBPS, but has come down with the release of PO & clerk exams score lists on seeing which many heaved a sigh of relief.

To Banks:

  • Rather than charging fees from all applicants, why don't banks collect it only from those who get shortlisted?
  • Why are the same high scorers being called for interviews when they shall join any one only.
  • Isn't possible to impose some limitations so other scorers would also get few chances?
  • What will the banks do if a person finally selected doesn't join?
  • Is there any possibility to release waiting lists/ second list?
  • The interview dates for 2 banks falls on the same date. How can a candidate shortlisted in both attend?
  • Will unfilled vacancies be transferred to next year`s recruitment or would it be completed within the same year of its advertisement?
  • Why don't banks complete their hiring process one by one to avoid multiple selections?
Too many questions but very little or no answers. With each bank recruitment, candidates are growing nervous about their chances of entering the final stages & ofcourse about their future.

A request…

If any officials of IBPS & banks chance to read this article, they must consider allaying the fears of candidates & infuse confidence about the new selection procedure among these future bank employees!!

IBPS Clerk & PO Results; Statewise &; Categorywise Scores Released

ibps score lists, ibps exam scores, ibps cutoffs, bank jobs cutoffs, bank exam cutoff scores 2012 This could be the biggest news for all those who appeared for the IBPS common written examinations. The institute released the complete list of scores along with the no. of candidates within a specific range. The good thing is the segregation of it as per state & category.

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) had conducted the 1st CWE for clerk vacancies in 19 public sector banks during November/ December 2011.The results were declared in the month of March 2012 which saw over 5.3 lakh candidates successfully pass out.

Clerical Scores

Since clerk jobs are to be filled statewise, the scores in each state would matter most unlike PO recruitments which are conducted pan-India.

IBPS came under sever criticism for not revealing those details but after a month of releasing the results, they have now published the same.
As per the official doc, candidates can now see how many people have qualified with them in their state.
The TWS range is calculated with a difference of 5 marks.for example: 151-155, 156-160 etc which can be downed from their website here.

Uttar Pradesh leads the table

Not a surprise for the largest Indian state, U.P to lead the chart with 79257 candidates eligible for clerk jobs.
Right after the results, based on a poll here at BankExamsIndia.com - we had deduced about the possibility of high competition among 130-160 TWS scorers which seems to be correct.
Pushing aside popular belief, not many states have candidates above 200 & hence the interview cutoffs could could start around 170

PO/ MT Score Range

A long pending request from PO exam qualified applicants for the scoring details has now been fulfilled.
Of 1.1 lakh who cleared the common PO/MT exam conducted in Sep 2011,
39753 – Gen, 47247- OBC, 4813 – ST & 20180 candidates belong to SC category.
Yes, IBPS has also put the no. of candidates within specific scoring range according to each category & this would enable everyone to analyze their chances. Download it from their site here.

Access to the scoring patterns was at the top among wishlist of many & with its availability now, more clarity for the upcoming bank jobs through IBPS CWE platform can be expected.

GD & Interview

As per the selection process explained by bank, they have proposed to conduct Group discussion for all shortlisted candidates which would be followed by Interviews. Most probably both may be held at the same venue.
